At the 2018 January meeting, leadership was passed from the original founding members to the following four women who are dedicated to making this organization successful in its mission of supporting charities/non-profits based in and serving Chester County.
After a successful career in event planning, Mrs. Dluhy decided to leave that industry to have a family. After planning outrageous birthday celebrations for her children, not knowing how to stop doing what she loved before married life, she decided to head down the path of fundraising. For 25 years, Mrs. Dluhy actively fundraised for several charities including Chester County SPCA (now known as Brandywine Valley SPCA), Team CMMD, Horsepower for Life and Designing 4 Hope.
Mrs. Dluhy currently serves on the Board of Directors of several organizations including Designing 4 Hope (a charity creating rooms for children with life-threatening illnesses to rest, recover, heal and dream in) and Horsepower for Life (a non-profit dedicated to helping cancer patients and survivors of all ages improve their physical and emotional quality of life by providing an educational and therapeutic horsemanship program). She has been a dedicated volunteer and fundraiser with the organization since inception. The Dluhy Family was the proud owner of one of the programs star ponies, Sundance, and has witnessed firsthand the major impact this charity has had on participants. Mrs. Dluhy has also previously served on the Board of Directors for Tredyffrin Historic Preservation Trust, helping to preserve historic properties and landmarks. She is also the chapter leader for Fabulous Shoe Night for Chester County, a group of like minded women and occasionally men who join together for socializing, networking and most importantly a night out for fun for a charity.
Mrs. Dluhy has enjoyed being a member of 100+Women Who Care Chester County for several years and was honored to have the Founding Leaders approach her to Re-Launch the Chapter with her incredible team.
For Sherry McCormack, building community is a true source of joy. Whether that community takes the form of a neighborhood, a school, a scout troop, or a philanthropy group. Sherry and Susan Nagy first brought 100+ Women Who Care to Pennsylvania in 2012 and later merged this group with the Women Who Care of Chester County. Now, serving again as one of the Directors, she helps to continue this circle of giving. Born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, Sherry graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Richmond and earned her real estate license in 1999. With an exceptional flair for technology, Sherry’s warm, people-centered real estate style is augmented by advanced internet marketing and sophisticated social media, reaching today’s clients where they are looking first: online. Her partnership with Long & Foster Real Estate of West Chester supports Sherry’s community-based networking, online and off, and affords her the opportunity to provide the most up-to-date services to sellers and buyers throughout the Philadelphia Main Line and Chester County.
After a successful career in graphic design for 15 years, Ms. McHale decided to follow her dream to become an interior decorator. Upon receiving her certifications in Re-Design, Home Staging and Color Consulting, she began her own company which specialized in managing the whole process of helping seniors downsize into retirement communities and staging their homes for sale. In 2011, her focus then changed to designing children's bedrooms and giving back and, with her team of creative professionals, launched Designing 4 Hope, a non-profit organization that gives dream bedroom makeovers to local children battling life-threatening illnesses, where she currently serves as Founder/Executive Director.
Lori joined 100+ Women Who Care Chester County in 2016 and has been amazed at all the wonderful charities/organizations that she has been privileged to learn about and support. She is now honored to serve as a Director and is eager to raise awareness and funding for even more deserving organizations within Chester County.
Upon losing a family member to cancer, Ms. Radie felt the desire to help individuals and families affected by the disease in some way. Being an avid horse rider and knowing the benefits of equine therapy, Ms. Radie formed Horse Power for Life in 2007, a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization in Chester County that offers free therapeutic horsemanship sessions for families affected by cancer. Ms. Radie received her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education. After teaching a few years, she explored a new career in Recruiting, Sales and Marketing. She assisted Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology companies in Pennsylvania and New Jersey with staffing in the Clinical Research, Regulatory, Safety and Data Management areas. Before forming the organization, Ms. Radie managed the Product Development recruiting efforts for Synthes USA, a global medical device company located in West Chester. Ms. Radie currently competes in Hunters at rated shows, volunteers full time for Horse Power for Life, and is excited to be involved with 100+ Women Who Care, and help positively impact local charities and people in Chester County.
